English synthesizer band Yazoo (known as Yaz in the United States) was formed in Basildon, Essex, England by Vince Clarke (synthesizers) and Alison Moyet (vocals) in 1981. The band broke up in 1983 and reunited again only in 2008. During their career, the band has released two studio albums, two compilation albums and several singles and EPs. The debut album Upstairs at Eric’s yielded the hit singles “Only You”, Don’t Go” and “Situation”. The album reached number 2 on the UK Album chart and charted in Germany and in the U.S. The next album You and Me Both became more successful. It reached the top spot in the UK and charted much better in the U.S. being at number 69 on the Billboard 200. The hit single from that album was “Nobody’s Diary”. 1999 saw their compilation of the best song “Only Yazoo – The best of Yazoo”. From our site, you can download this album by Yazoo in mp3.
