Bobby Womack, birth name Robert Dwayne Womack is an American rhythm and blues singer-songwriter, guitarist and musician born on March 4, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. At the beginning of 1960s he was a member of the family group Womack Brothers. Sam Cooke was their producer and Bobby was his backing guitarist. Bobby surprised everyone when married Cooke’s widow Barbara after Cooke had been killed causing some troubles for his career and controversy. Later Bobby’s younger brother married Linda, the daughter of Sam Cooke and his wife Barbara. The English rock band The Rolling Stones performed cover for Womack’s song “It’s All Over Now” and reached the top spot of the British chart for the first time. In 1970 Womack reached the success as the solo artist with such hits as Lookin' for Love, Across 110th Street, If You Think You’re Lonely Now and others.
