Biography

Ween is an American alternative rock, experimental rock and neo-psychedelia band that was formed in 1984 when Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo met in an eighth grade typing class. They became known respectively as Gene Ween and Dean Ween. The band currently consists of Dean Ween (pseudonym for Mickey Melchiondo; lead guitar, vocals), Gene Ween (pseudonym for Aaron Freeman; lead vocal, guitar), Dave Dreiwitz (bass), Claude Coleman, Jr. (drums) and Glenn McClelland (keyboards). Their earliest home recordings were anarchic and free-spirited, drawing on influences as far-reaching as Syd Barrett, The Beatles, Queen, Prince, Butthole Surfers, The Residents, and the lo-fi punk movement. And now, you may download Ween's new album, La Cucaracha, in mp3 from our site. La Cucaracha peaked at number 69 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. It also spawned several singles such as "Object", "Learnin' to Love", "My Own Bare Hands" and "The Fruit Man".
