In 1987 Marc Moulin, Michael Moers and Dan Lacksman decided to make “something really European” and Belgian band Telex appeared. The main idea was to make electronic music, without guitar and different from rock. Originally, Telex was making cover versions of various famous songs. All the covers were made with a bit of humor, thus originally quick “Rock Around a Clock” became ultra-slow and so on. The worldwide hit “Moskow Diskow”, one of the first ever electronic dance/pop songs, was in their debut album “Looking for Saint Tropez”. The band lost their popularity because of the failure at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1989, they revised their old tracks and released Les Rhythmes Automatiques with remixes resembling the house music. In total Telex, released 6 original albums and 7 remix albums.
