Biography

American rock band Tangier was formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the United States in 1985. The band’s founder was Doug Gordon who was the band’s songwriter and guitarist. The line-up which recorded the first album consisted of Bill Mattson (vocals), Doug Gordon (guitar, songwriter), Rocco Mazzella (guitar, songwriter), Mike Kost (bass) and by Mark Hopkins (drums). Later the line-up was changing and all three band’s albums were recorded by different line-ups and in different styles. The debut self-titled album didn’t bring the band any success. Tangier tried to promote themselves and the band Cinderella invited them to be an open act on their tour. The next album Four Winds became slightly more popular. It reached number 91 and produced two singles “On the Line and “Southbound Train”. The album was released under Atco records. The third and the last album Stranded wasn’t successful again and the band dissolved. You can download the most popular album Four Winds by Tangier in mp3 from our site.
