Biography

German progressive rock band Sylvan was formed in 1990 under the name Temporal Temptation which was changed for Chameleon and later for Sylvan in 1998 which is considered to be the year of group formation. The band composes of Marco Glühmann (Vocals), Matthias Harder (Drums), Sebastian Harnack (Bass), Jan Petersen (Guitar) and of Volker Söhl (Keyboard). During its career the band has released eight studio albums. Each of them has its own concept. For example Artificial Paradise tells about "society's superficiality, deceitfulness and greed." Posthumous Silence is a story about a man who reads the diary of his dead daughter and learns about her despair. You can download this concept-based album by Sylvan in mp3 from our site. The band states that they were influenced by Pink Floyd, Marillion and by Genesis.
