Biography

American rock band The Stooges led by Iggy Pop was formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the United States in 1967. The band consists of Iggy Pop – leade vocals, Scott Asheton – drums, James Williamson – guitar and of Mike Watt – bass. The band’s sound can be described as garage rock, proto-punk and glam-rock though musicians define themselves as psychedelic rock, punk and metal. The early band’s albums influenced the development of punk-rock and of alternative music. The band hasn’t achieved a commercial success though their album Raw Power (1973) is considered to be one of the base albums of proto-punk defined the further development of this style. The band broke up in 1974 but they reformed in 2003 and their last album The Weirdness was released in 2007. You can download this album by The Stooges in mp3 from our site.
