British fictional heavy metal band Spinal Tap appeared for the first on ABC TV channel in the comedy sketch show “The T.V. Show” in 1979. Despite the fact that the show failed the fictional characters continued their activity. Next time the parody band appeared in the mockumentary film This is Spinal Tap which was released in 1984. The band was portrayed by Michael McKean (as David St. Hubbins), Christopher Guest (as Nigel Tufnel) and Harry Shearer (as Derek Smalls). The film was accompanied by the soundtrack album which was released by the band. After years of silence the fictional characters decided to reunite in 1992 and recorded their second album Break Like the Wind. After that the band reunited from time to time in order to take part in different events, like for combat against global warming. Their last album Back from the Dead was released in 2009.
