Biography

American rock band Sly and the Family Stone is from San Francisco, California, the United States. The band was founded in 1966 by Sly Stone. The original line-up also composed of his brother Freddie Stone (vocals, guitar), his sistser Rose Stone (vocals, keyboards), Cynthia Robinson (trumpete), Gregg Errico (drums), Jerry Martini (saxophone), Larry Graham (bass). The band has become the first rock band featuring both men and women and blacks and whites. The group was included in the 50 most influential artists of the rock and roll era. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band was popular and had several hits number one in the United States - "Everyday People", "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)", and "Family Affair".
