Biography

Annie Chancel (known under the stage name Sheila) is a French pop singer being popular in 60s and 70s. She was born on August 16, 1945 in Créteil, France. At first she sang in French and had the image of a well-behaved girl. Her first hit was released in 1962, it was the song "L'école est finie" (School is over), which you can download from our site in mp3. Sheila’s songs were used as soundtracks in the films like Eight Women and Une robe d’ 'été. In the last film the main character was even her fan. In 1977 she changed her music style and came back to the stage as Sheila and B. Devotion. Also she began singing in English and became popular again. Her hits of that time include such songs as Spacer and Love Me Baby. In 1983 she took another music direction having met her future husband Yves Martin, who was a composer and producer. But at the end of 80s she finished her career finally. Later Sheila made a successful come back for several concerts, the last one was in 2006.
