Shakti was an English jazz and fusion music band that was formed in 1975 by guitar player John McLaughlin and the Indian violin player L. Shankar. Later Zakir Hussain (tabla), R. Raghavan (Mridangam) and T. H. "Vikku" Vinayakram (Ghatam) successfully joined the band. In the mid-1970, they caught attention of Columbia and quickly signed with this record label. They gained popularity in 1975 with their breakthrough self-titled debut album, which included only three singles including "Joy", "Lotus Feet" and "What Need Have I for This/What Need Have I for That/I Am Dancing at the Feet of My Lord/All Is Bliss/All Is Bliss". All these tracks received positive critical reviews. And now, you may download Shakti self-titled debut album in mp3 from our site.
