Biography

Shaggy, birth name is Orville Richard Burrell is a reggae singer from Kingston Jamaica. He was born on October 22, 1968 and later moved in the US with his family. Shaggy took such nick from the Scooby-Doo’s companion but later he stated that he was called so because of his haircut. Burrell joined American army in 1988 and took part in the operation Desert Strom during the Gulf War. He perfected his distinctive sub-baritone voice there and got the inspiration for writing some of his hits like Boombastic. After coming back home he decided to begin a serious music career. His first hits were Oh, Carolina, Folkes Brothers cover and Boombastic which became a music theme for Levi’s commercial. In early 2000, shaggy produced the worldwide hits number one Angel and It Wasn’t Me, which entered the hit album Hot Shot. You can download this album by Shaggy in mp3 from our site.
