Biography

The Residents are an American avant-garde/noise rock and mixed media band from Shreveport, Louisiana. It was formed in 1969. The band’s members never identified themselves by name, always appearing in public in disguise — usually tuxedos, top hats and giant eyeball masks — and refusing to grant media interviews. The Residents achieved mainstream success with their debut album, Meet the Residents, which you may download in mp3 from our site. It was a parody of Meet the Beatles! (the Beatles' first US release). Meet the Residents produced two singles "Guylum Bardot" and "Boots". Their album, Commercial Album, was released in 1980. In 2008, the band released their latest album, The Bunny Boy. In addition to the band, frequent collaborators Nolan Cook, Carla Fabrizio, and Joshua Raoul Brody also appeared on the album.
