Randy Travis is an American country and gospel music singer-songwriter. He was born May 4, 1959, in Marshville, North Carolina, U.S. He quickly gained popularity with his breakthrough debut album, Storms of Life, which was certified 3× Multi-Platinum. This album also spawned the hit singles, "On the Other Hand", "1982", "Diggin' up Bones", and "No Place Like Home". This album secured him the status of a neotraditionalist country artist. After this recording he released several platinum and multi-platinum albums. In 1988, he released his follow-up successful album, Old 8×10, which produced the singles "Honky Tonk Moon", "Deeper Than the Holler", "Is It Still Over", and "Promises".
