Biography

English rock and roll band The Pretty Things comes from London, the UK. The band was founded in 1964 by Dick Taylor and Phil May. The two recruited other members for completing line-up and the first full size band consisted of Dick Taylor (guitar), Phil May (vocals, harmonica), Brian Pendleton (rhythm guitar), John Stax (bass) and Viv Prince (drums). The band hasn’t achieved the big popularity though they made several hits for the UK, Australia, Germany, and Netherlands. The band has influenced such the Rolling Stones and David Bowie covered two of their songs. Dick Taylor began his music efforts in the Rolling Stones but left the band quite soon. The band has released quite a number of albums beginning from 1965 and ending in 2007. The debut self-titled album hit the UK Albums chart at number 6.
