Biography

American supergroup Power Station formed in New York City, New York, the United States in 1985 composed of Robert palmer (vocals), John Taylor (bass), Andy Taylor (guitar) and Tony Thomson (drums). The band comprised Duran Duran member (Andy Taylor) and Chic member (Tony Thomson). They decided to departure from synthesizer pop music by Duran Duran and went on with Led Zeppelin-like rock and roll. Originally, the band (without Palmer) had a plan of creating an album featuring different vocalists on each song. The band approached Mick Jagger, Billy Idol, Mars Williams and some others. When they heard Robert Palmer singing for “Communication”, the band decided to invite him and to record the whole album with one vocalist. They were quickly signed to Capitol Records.
