American pop rock, art rock and experimental music singer-songwriter Paula Cole was born on April 5, 1968 in Rockport, Massachusetts, the United States. Cole achieved her breakthrough to the mainstream success in 1996 releasing her second album This Fire. The album was released through Warner Bros. Records and was entirely self-produced. The first single in Cole’s career was "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone". It was that single which earned her mainstream popularity. The singles reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, charted on Adult Contemporary, US Modern Rock, Hot Dance Club Play and was on charts in the UK and Australia.
