Biography

American band Pain Killer, known also as Painkiller was formed in New York City, New York, the United States in 1991. Three main members of the band were John Zorn (saxophone), Bill Laswell (electric bass) and Mick Harris (drums (former member of Napalm Death)). Besides them, some other musicians contributed to the band’s music, like Yamatsuka Eye, Buckethead, Mike Patton, Makigami Koichi, Justin Broadrick and others. The band’s music can be describes as avant-garde jazz and grindcore, though later it more resembled ambient and dub. The band broke up in 1995 when Harris decided to focus on computer music and thus he left the band. Other two members revived the band several times inviting other drummers to play the gigs. The band released two extended plays, two live albums, one LP and two compilation albums. You can download Pain Killer’s debut EP Guts of a Virgin in mp3 from our site.
