Biography

Dutch pop, progressive rock and new wave band the Nits was founded in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1974. The band is signed to Columbia Records. The line-up has never been stable and the band’s core members are Henk Hofstede -the group's lead singer and lyricist, Rob Kloet – drummer and Robert Jan Stips – keyboards. The band’s language is English as the band wished to achieve an international success. However, they didn’t break to the market in English speaking countries. Their most popular international hit was “In the Dutch Mountains” (1987) from the same-titled album. The biggest Dutch hit was “Nescio” (1983). The band has released quite a number of albums – more then 20. You can download the Nits’ 2000 album Wool in mp3 from our site. The band’s lyrics are mostly about their impressions about traveling, as they travel a lot, others are inspired by different art pieces.
