Biography

American rock band Midlake comes from Denton, Texas, the United States. The band was founded in 1999 by jazz students in the University of North Texas. The band’s style can be described as indie rock, psychedelic rock and folk rock. They began with funk and jazz but changed their direction in order to play somewhat experimental music, which can be part of the mainstream at the same time. The band was highly inspired by the Flaming Lips, Grandaddy, Bjork, Radiohead and others. Their debut album Bamnan and Slivercork was mastered at the famous Abbey Road Studios. The band began their career in Europe where they gained the first popularity, signing with Bella Union Records. They played at some festivals like Les Inrockuptibles, Wintercase, End Of The Road Festival and some others. You can download Midlake’s debut album in mp3 from our site.
