Biography

Maxwell, an American R’n’B /neo-soul singer was born on May 23, 1973, in Brooklyn, NY, US. He made a breakthrough in 1996 releasing his debut album Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite, which turned him into a star as the album got the rank 2 x-platinum and Maxwell was nominated for Grammy Awards. However this album didn’t spawn his best single ever. It was “Fortunate” which appeared in 1999. It reached the top spot of US R & B and of US AC and peaked at #4 on the main US chart. This song was a collaboration with R. Kelly. Maxwell’s third album “Now” (2001) yielded such hits as “Lifetime” and “This Woman’s Work”. The last Maxwell’s album Blacksummers'night (2009) is available to download in mp3 from our site. Maxwell also appeared on the tracks of other artists like Sweetback, Nas and The Alchemist. He earned Soul Train Award twice and Billboard Music Award. He was nominated for Grammy for four times.
