The group of French singers and performers titled Les Enfoirés (The Tossers in English) gathered for the first time in 1986. The initiator of this event was French humorist Coluche who had set up his charity fund Les Restos de Coeur. He wanted to promote it on television and to create a hit making it popular among ordinary people and raising money in such a way. He asked Jean-Jacques Goldman to write a hit. The latter accepted the offer. The first Les Enfoirés’ line-up composed of such celebrities like Jean-Jacques Goldman, Yves Montand, Nathalie Baye, Michel Platini and Michel Drucker. The popularity of all the participants attracted many people around the country. Shortly after that, Coluche died in a motorbike accident.
