Lawrence Welk (March 11, 1903 – May 17, 1992) was an American easy listening and pop rock musician, accordionist and television impresario. As a child, he decided on a music career. At the age of ten, he began playing accordion. In the early 1920s, he started to perform with various bands including Luke Witkowski, Lincoln Boulds, and George T. Kelly. Later, he founded his own orchestra and collaborated with Hotsy Totsy Boys and the Honolulu Fruit Gum Orchestra. During 1930s, he toured throughout the US and he band became more and more popular. Because of such success, he signed to Indiana-based Gennett Records label and began recording his debut album. Percusion was released a few years later, and it produced several tracks such as "Scarf dance", "Вance of the puppets", "The business mans bounce", "Loch lomond" and "Listen to the mocking bird".
