American pop rock, pop, dance and electronic musician, singer and actress Laura Ann Branigan, known as Laura Branigan was born on July 3, 1957 in Brewster, New York, the United States and died on August 26, 2004 in East Quogue, New York, the United States. She began her career in musicals and was working as a back vocalist for Leonard Cohen. She released her debut album Branigan in 1982, which quickly became popular due to the hit single “Gloria”. The single reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for Grammy. The single was number one in Canada and in Australia. Her popularity in the USA was very short, but in Europe Branigan has become one of the most popular artists of the decade. In the 1990s, she switched to the actress career and starred in TV Series.
