Biography

English progressive rock band King Crimson was formed in 1969. The band was founded by Robert Fripp on guitar and by Michael Giles on drums. Giles quickly left the band and Robert Fripp still remains the band’s member. The current band’s line-up consists of Robert Fripp (guitars, guitar synthesizer/MIDI guitar), Adrian Belew (lead vocals, guitars, electronic percussion), Tony Levin (bass guitar, backing vocals), Pat Mastelotto (acoustics and electronic drums and percussion) and Gavin Harrison (drums). The band rose to fame with a release of their debut album In the Court of Crimson King (1969). The album is considered the first one in the history of progressive rock. It is still the most band’s popular work. King Crimson were so popular that they toured with the Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin and Fleetwood Mac.
