Biography

Keel is an American heavy metal, glam metal and hard rock band that was formed in 1984 by former Steeler vocalist Ron Keel, and currently comprises Ron Keel, Marc Ferrari, Brian Jay, Geno Arce and Dwain Miller. The band was known for their rock anthem "The Right to Rock". In 1986, the band actually won the Best Band of the Year award in the 2nd annual Metal Edge magazine reader's poll, beating such noted bands as Iron Maiden & Judas Priest. They achieved mainstream success in 1984 with their most successful first album, Lay Down the Law, which included two covers, "Speed Demon" and the Rolling Stones cover "Let's Spend the Night Together". The album's other singles were: "Thunder and Lightning", "Princess of Illusion", "Metal Generation" and "Born Ready". The album also was released on Shrapnel Records to rave reviews, despite the band signing to Gold Mountain Records a few months prior. And now, you may download Keel's debut album, Lay Down the Law, in mp3 from our site.
