Biography

Junior Brown, birth name Jamieson Brown, was born on June 12, 1952 in Kirksville, Indiana, the United States. He is an American country singer guitarist. Brown’s first instrument was piano and he learnt how to play from his father who taught him at a very young age. Later, he learnt guitar, pedal steel and developed his music skills playing in some bands, like Last Mile Ramblers, Dusty Drapes and the Dusters and Asleep. Brown is known for creating his own guitar, called “guit-steel”. This instrument combines a usual 6 string guitar with lap steel. He has two such instruments, which are called “Old Yeller” and “Big Red”. During his solo career, Brown has released quite a number of albums and several singles; however, he didn’t reach any mainstream success.
