Biography

John Hiatt, an American singer and composer was born on August 20, 1952 in Indianapolis. He began his career performing in local clubs until in 1974 when his song performed by the Tree Dog Night made a tremendous success. Over the next decade, Hiatt ran through a number of different styles and record labels. His first album to hit the chart in 1987 was Bring the Family and since then Hiatt became a famous hit songwriter for a few prominent artists from Bonnie Raitt, Ronnie Milsap, and Dr. Feelgood to Iggy Pop, Three Dog Night, and the Neville Brothers. Hiatt attempted to record a follow-up and gathered a band that had a very moderate success and after a few tours in was re-formed in 1991. Since then he recorded 18 albums, quite a few of those spent weeks in charts. Hiatt has been nominated for eleven Grammy Awards and has been honored a few other distinctions for his artistic achievements. His most recent album is called Same Old Man, it appeared in 2008.
