Joan of Arc is an American indie rock, post-rock and experimental band that was formed in 1995 after the break up of Cap'n Jazz, and currently consists of Tim Kinsella, Sam Zurick, Mike Kinsella, Nate Kinsella, Bobby Burg, Amy Cargill, Jeremy Boyle, Ben Vida, Cale Parks, Matt Clark and Todd Mattei. Tim Kinsella has been the only permanent member of the group, and he has also recorded as a solo artist. The band's lyrics and cover art are often intentionally misleading, humorous, or confusing. They achieved mainstream success with their breakthrough album, How Memory Works (1998), which included 11 tracks such as "Honestly Now", "Gin & Platonic", "To've Had Two Of", "This Life Cumulative", "A Pale Orange" and others.
