Biography

American psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane was formed in San Francisco, California, the United States in 1965. The band is considered to be one of the cult acts during hippy era along with Janis Joplin, The Doors and with The Grateful Dead. The band was founded by Signy Toly Anderson – vocals, Marty Bolin – vocals, rhythm guitar, Paul Kantner – rhythm guitar, vocals, Jorma Kaukonen – lead vocals, guitar, Bob Harvey – bass guitar and by Jerry Peloquin – drums. Since then the members changed quite often and the line-up wasn’t stable during all the band’s history. The band split and was revived several times under the name “Jefferson Starship” and later just “Starship”. The band was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. Their most famous songs are “Somebody to Love” and “White Rabbit”. You can download Best of Jefferson Airplane in mp3 from our site.
