Jan Delay, birth name Jan Phillip Eißfeldt, also known as Eißfeldt, Eizi Eiz, Boba Ffett was born on August 25, 1976 in Hamburg, Germany. He is a German singer, songwriter and producer known as one of the hip hop pioneers in Germany being a member of a hip hop band Beginner. His stage name Jan Delay comes from “Young Deenay”, a popular music act of 1980s. He began his solo career in 2001 releasing the album Searching for the Jan Soul Rebels. The album received very positive reviews including the best rank from the German hip hop magazine “Juice”. The second album “Mercedes Dance” was released in 2006 showing changing of his style.
