Biography

Jakob is a New Zealand post-rock and alternative rock band that was founded in 1998 by guitarist Jeff Boyle, bassist Maurice Beckett, and drummer Jason Johnston. They began their music career with the performances at the local pub O'Flaherty's. During this time, they also opened New Zealand groups such as Salmonella Dub and Pitch Black. In the late 1990, they released their self-titled EP, which brought the band a contract with Midium Records label. Their debut album, Subsets of Sets, was released in 2001 and received positive reviews from critics. They continued their success with their second album, Cale:Drew (2003), which was nominated at the bNet independent music awards. In 2006, they released their latest album, Solace, which spawned the band's well known singles such as "Pneumonic", "Lonesome" and "Oran Mor". And now, you may download Jakob's album, Solace, in mp3 from our site.
