Biography

Indian Ocean is an Indian fusion music band that was formed in 1990. The band consists of Susmit Sen, Asheem Chakravarthy, Amit Kilam and Rahul Ram. Originally the band was formed when Susmit Sen met Asheem Chakravarty. They had common interests in music. So they began to perform together. Susmit was on the guitar and Asheem on drums. In 1990, they recorded their first demo. In 1991, Rahul Ram, who was Susmit's schoolmate joined the band on bass. Later, they signed to HMV Record label. In 1993, they released their self-titled first album. They achieved mainstream success in 2004, when they released the soundtrack for Black Friday film. Black Friday became the band's most popular album. And the album's single, "Bandeh", was a huge hit, when it reached number two on the film charts.
