American alternative rock band Gumball was formed in 1990 in New York City, New York, the United States. The band was formed by former members of B.A.L.L. and Dinosaur Jr. Don Fleming (vocals and guitar) and Jay Spiegel (drums). Spiegel’s friend Eric Vermillion joined the twosome soon and filled the bass. The trio began rehearsals and played their first show very soon. Malcolm Riviera was a fourth member and he joined the band in 1992. The band didn’t achieve the mainstream success, though they were signed with Columbia Records. The label dropped them due to the low sales of their second major label album Revolution on Ice (1994). The band released one long play after that and decided to part their ways rather then to find a new label. Thus, they disbanded in 1995.
