Biography

Grave Digger is a German heavy metal and power metal band that was formed in 1980 by Chris Boltendahl, Peter Masson, Willi Lackmann and Albert Eckardt and the band's current line-up consists of Chris Boltendahl (vocals), Jens Becker (bass), Stefan Arnold (drums) and Hans Peter "H.P." Katzenburg (keyboards). They emerged on the German metal scene in the mid-1980 with their album, Heavy Metal Breakdown, which was released on both Noise Records and Music for Nations. In 1985, they released their second album, Witch Hunter, which spawned the singles, "Get Ready For Power", "Love Is A Game", "Get Away", "Fight For Freedom" and "School's Out". In the early 1990, they left Noise Records and signed to GUN Records. In 1993, they released their most successful album, The Reaper, which produced several singles, "Tribute To Death", "The Reaper", "Ride On" and "Shadows Of A Moonless Night".
