Grand Funk Railroad (simply known as Grand Funk) are an American hard rock, boogie rock and heavy metal band from Flint, Michigan that was founded in 1968 by Mark Farner (guitars, keyboards, lead vocals) and Don Brewer (drums, lead vocals). The band's current line-up comprises Max Carl (lead vocals), Don Brewer (drums, lead vocals), Bruce Kulick (guitars), Timothy "Tim" Cashion (keyboards) and Mel Schacher (bass guitar). They quickly gained popularity in the late 1960s with their breakthrough debut record entitled On Time which yielded the act's first smash hits such as "Anybody's Answer", "Time Machine", "High on a Horse", "T.N.U.C." and "Into the Sun".
