Biography

English pop duo Go West was formed by songwriting team of Peter Cox on lead vocals and drums (born on November 17, 1955, in Kingston, Surrey, England) and Richard Drummie on guitar and vocals (born on March 20, 1959, in Twickenham, London, England). The duo was founded in London in 1982. Their debut single was released in 1985. The duo signed Chrysalis Records with help of only two their songs – “We Close Our Eyes” and “Call Me”. These would-be singles became their most successful works. The first single reached number 5 on the UK Singles chart and number one in New Zealand. The second one peaked at number 12 in the UK and at number 2 in NZ. Their singles charted in the US as well, but they haven’t become very big. The most successful duo’s single in the US is "King of Wishful Thinking" (#8 on the Billboard Hot 100). From our site you can download the album Aces and Kings - The Best of Go West in mp3.
