Biography

German punk band Die Toten Hosen from Dusseldorf, Germany was formed in 1982. The band’s line-up composes of Campino (Andreas Frege) - vocals, Andi (Andreas Meurer) – bass guitar, Breiti (Michael Breitkopf) - guitar, Kuddel (Andreas von Holst) - guitar and Vom (Stephen George Ritchie) – drums. During its career, the band has established its name and has become one of the most successful German punk acts. The band’s lyrics was about having fun at the beginning of their career but later the band departed from these themes turning to more serious things like anti-fascism, anti-racism and supporting Greenpeace. The band is one of the few German acts to be popular outside Germany, namely in South Africa, Australia and in Eastern Europe. They collaborated with famous bands like U2, AC/DC, Rolling stones and Bad Religion. They released their last album In aller Stille in 2008.
