Biography

English pop rock band the Dave Clark Five was founded in London, the UK in 1959. The band was named after its founder Dave Clark, who was a drummer, quite unusual instrument for the member who gave his name for the band. The other members included Mike Smith – vocals and keyboards, Lenny Davidson – lead guitar, Rick Huxley – bass guitar, Denny Payton - saxophone, harmonica and guitar. The band was one of the few bands who could compete with the Beatles on the tops of the charts at that time. The band’s biggest hit was “Glad All Over”. It became number on in the UK and reached number 3 in the United States. The band was the second in the British Invasion to have a hit in America. Their other hits are "Bits and Pieces" (reached number 2), "Catch Us If You Can", "Can't You See That She's Mine" etc. You can download The Best of the Dave Clark Five in mp3 from our site.
