British art and progressive rock band Cressida was active at the end of 1960s. They disbanded in 1970 and their last album was released in 1971 when the band was defunct. The band’s line-up composed of Peter Jennings (keyboards), Angus Cullen (vocals, guitar), John Heyworth (guitar), Kevin McCarthy (bass), and Ian Clark (drums). Peter Jennings played organ and mellotron that made band’s music sound unique. The band released their albums through Vertigo, Polydor’s progressive rock imprint. The debut album Cressida was released in1970. The band even toured. They visited such an unusual place for that time as Bratislava (former Czechoslovakia, a member of the Eastern bloc). The band began playing gigs in Hamburg, Germany, supported Black Sabbath in Belgium. The second album Asylum was more ambitious in music. However, the music they played was not for the crowds and that led to the disbanding. You can download albums by Cressida in mp3 from our site.
