Biography

Cowboy Junkies are a Canadian alternative rock, all-country and rock band that was formed in 1986. The band's line-up comprises Margo Timmins (vocals), Michael Timmins (guitar and chief songwriter), Peter Timmins (drums) and Alan Anton (bass). They emerged on the Canadian alternative rock music scene in the middle 1980s with their breakthrough debut record called Whites Off Earth Now!!. They achieved mainstream success in the late 1980s with their second album entitled The Trinity Session which produced the band's first big hits such as "Sweet Jane", "Walkin' After Midnight", "Mining for Gold" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry".
