Biography

The greatest violinist of the 18th century and one of the outstanding composers of his time, Arcangelo Corelli was born on February 17, 1653 in Fusignano and died on January 8, 1713 in Rome. He influenced on the way of violin play and he influenced many grand masters like Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach and many others. It’s known very little about his early life but we know that his teachers were Giovanni Battista Bassani (he taught him to play violin) and Matteo Simonelli (composition). He went to Paris and earned the fame their. It allowed him to travel in Germany where he was at service of the prince of Bavaria and later he moved to Rome where he was very popular among the aristocracy.
