Biography

American rock and blues band Canned Heat was formed in Los Angeles, California, the United States. The band is still active but since its formation, the line-up was changed greatly. The band was founded by Bob Hite and Alan Wilson who deceased in 1981 and 1970 respectively. The line-up which gained the first popularity for the band composed of Bob Hite, vocals, Alan Wilson guitar, harmonica and vocals, Henry Vestine (or Harvey Mandel) on lead guitar, Larry Taylor on bass, and Adolfo "Fito" de la Parra on drums. The band reached the significant commercial success during the end of the 1960s, beginning of the 1970s with their hits “Goin' Up the Country” and “Let’s Work Together”. The current band’s line-up consists of Adolfo “Fito” de la Parra - drums, Barry Levenson - guitar, Greg Kage – bass, vocals and Robert Lucas – guitar, harmonica, vocals.
