Singer, sound producer and ambient forerunner Brian Eno was born in Woodbridge, England, on May 15, 1948. Having started at school as minimalist artist, he soon realized his passion for music, which resulted in joining the Roxy Music band in 1971. After the release of second successful album, he left the band in 1973 to start up a series of individual projects. Working in collaboration with a few prominent musicians of the age Eno pioneered a few forms of sound modification going well beyond conventional music format. These experiments resulted in discovering a new genre he called ‘ambient’. He also paid a lot of effort to experimenting with visual means exhibiting video installations at a few galleries all over the world. Virtually everyone is acquainted with Eno’s art, as he’s a composer of the famous Windows “start-up sound”. Brian Eno calls himself a painter in sound, which perfectly describes his artistic attitude to music. You can download Music For Films by Brian Eno in MP3 from our site.
