Biography

American pop, country and rockabilly singer Brenda Mae Tarpley, better known under her stage name Brenda Lee was born on December 11, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States. She was one of the leading artists during the 1950-60s. Because of her low height, she got a moniker “Little Miss Dynamite”. Brenda Lee received international fame for her hit singles “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” (#14 Billboard Hot 100, 1960; #6 UK Singles Chart, 1962) and for “I’m Sorry” (#1 US, #12 UK, 1960). “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is considered one of the most popular Christmas standard songs for more than half a century. In total, she has sold about 100 million copies of her records and released 37 hit singles during 1960s. Her popularity went down in the 1970s but she continued recording country songs and was on country charts in 1970-80s. From our site, you can download Brenda Lee’s Definitive Collection in mp3.
