Biography

The Blue Nile is a Scottish adult alternative, dream pop and alternative band that was formed in 1981 by Paul Buchanan (vocals, guitar), Robert Bell (bass) and Paul Joseph Moore (keyboards). They all met each other after graduating from the University of Glasgow in the late 1970s. Although their individual degrees didn't reflect their future career wishes (English Literature, Electronics and Mathematics, respectively), their mutual friendship grew out of their shared interest in music, and they began writing and recording together. Bell and Buchanan were previously the key members of the band Night by Night, who had a small but enthusiastic following in the Glasgow area. In 1984, they released their first album, A Walk Across the Rooftops. In 1989, they released their most successful album, Hats, which reached number 12 on the UK album charts. The album also produced several singles such as "The Downtown Lights," "Headlights on the Parade," and "Saturday Night". And now, you may download this album by the Blue Nile in mp3 from our site.
