American rock and pop singer Belinda Carlisle, birth name Belinda Jo Carlisle was born on August 17, 1958 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, the United States. She rose to fame as the founder and lead singer of female band The Go Go’s and continued her success embarking on a solo career. She released her first solo effort in 1986. The debut self-titled album was noticed by the mainstream audience. The album was supported by a hit single “Mad About You”. It reached Gold status in Canada. The follow-up long play Heaven on Earth was a much more success. The album became Platinum in the US, 2 x Platinum in Canada and 3 x Platinum in the UK. The biggest album’s hits were “Heaven is a place on Earth”, “I Get Weak” and “Circle in the Sand”.
