Biography

Belinda (birth name Belinda Peregrín Schüll) is a Mexican pop, pop rock and latin pop singer-songwriter. She was born on August 15, 1989, in Madrid, Spain. Her family moved to Mexico City, Mexico when she was four years old and have lived there ever since. She is well known for her dual role playing identical twins Mariana Cantú and Silvana Del Valle in popular Mexican children's telenovela, Cómplices Al Rescate. In 2006, she released her breakthrough second album, Utopía. This album spawned several singles such as "Ni Freud Ni Tu Mamá", "Bella Traición", "Luz Sin Gravedad" and "Alguien Más". In 2007 she received a Latin Grammy nomination for Song of the Year ("Bella Traicion"). At the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America 2008 she also won two awards: Best Solo Artist and Video of the Year for her hit single "Bella Traicion".
