Biography

Attrition is an English industrial, darkwave and gothic music band that was formed in 1980 and currently consists of Martin Bowes and Sin D'rella. In the early 1980s, the band was heavily influenced by experimental rock, post-punk and industrial bands such as The Velvet Underground, Crass, the Sex Pistols, Magazine, Joy Division and Cabaret Voltaire. At the same time, they were involved into the post-punk movement. In 1982, they released their first album, of Death House, which was inspired by zombie films. After this release, they caught the attention of fans and music critics. And in 1983, they released their second album entitled Action and Reaction. In 1984, they signed to Third Mind Records. At the same year, they released their breakthrough album, The Attrition of Reason, which became their major debut and best-selling recording.
