Iranian-German singer Mehrzad Marashi was born on September 29, 1980 in Iran. He and his family left the country because of the war happened in Iran. The family settled in Hamburg, Germany. Marashi has been loving music since his childhood and he decided to pursue a music career. However his way to the fame was not easy. He had to leave music academy because of financial problems. His songs on YouTube were popular but not enough to enter the charts. Finally he decided to apply to Deutschland sucht den Superstar (Germany is looking for a Superstar), he was successfully audiotioned. Marashi won the talent show and received the national recognition becoming popular in other German speaking countries too.
